ALL FALL DOWN
Ring a ring a Rosies
Inside Delores' womb there are five little Pearsons all waiting to be hatched.
Pre-empting their future super-stardom they are wearing identifying uniforms - an enormous number five with five stars in silhouette. Inspirational.
********************************************************************
In a bid to ease identification the laydees are in blue and the gentlemen are in white.
All of them are wearing white trousers, though. The 80's were a funny time. How do you get them clean? Despite what these modern powders say...
The one in the front twirls round and holds up her hand to pledge allegiance to the logo.
Quickly following are the other two laydees.
But in an instant we are back to the start as they repeat their opening gambit - "All Fall Down".
Then all five of the pesky kids are face forward and move in perfect harmony. They're gonna be big, these five...
They have started early with their insistence on some things not being right. All but one of them are wearing scarves (?!) and of the four adorned with neckwear, one of them is in red, the others in white. Can't they be happy with them all being the same?
(Guess which cheeky scamp has the mis-coloured scarf round her chops? Lozza, of course!)
Then wait - they are punching the air in some kind of karate move, and become all animated! Buster's had them crayons out again and has been touching up the celluloid!
A-Ha better watch out - if they can win awards, these five should at least get some of the recognition for their idea!
Princess Denny is in full close-up - three and a half inches of slap and some curtain pole hoops in her ears - her taste for the sparkly chandelier stuff hasn't developed yet - a post-womb thing, obviously.
There is much dancing and showing off in frot of their Luxury of Life embrionic logo - all gold mosaic and shiny.
They pop in and out of animation - a special effect they seem to have mastered.
There is even the early start of the Can't Wait duck waddle.
More Denny close up.
Then they enact the future again with a lie down on the floor ready for the Find the Time photo shoot. They shoudl predeict the future professionally this lot. Right little Nostrudamuses they are!
There's a lot of shoulder shrugging and spins going on here - someone discovered them in dance class last week, didn't they?
Dozza's close up reveal enormous tear-drop baubles hanging from her lugholes - all shiny and classy. Nice one, girl.
There is too much orange hair going on for any of it to be natural. Maybe they ran something over on the way to the studio womb and thought it would be nice to have it starring in their latest offering to the pop world.
During the catchy bridge section where they sing "bye-ay Y-i", a way-too-young Delboy appears and looks like he should be in school. I hope he didn't miss class to be in this picture...! Delores would not be happy.
Later, Denny shows her first diva moment when she tips back her head with outrageous attitude to the line "It's picking me up to the highest... Love I've ever known". Right on cue and everything. Brilliant!
Then, one of my own personal favourite all-time Five Star moments - Denny is reduced to a set of lips and eyes in animation. Until Buster gets his felt tips out and colurs in the rest of her face. Classic. Genius!
It ends with that complicated arm jigging thing they do on the floor in formation. All a bit military for my liking. But it seems to work.
..................................................................................................................................
So not any kind of story, but plenty to show off their talent.
Marvellous.
No wonder it got to number 15 in the charts.
Bravo.
Can someone animate me now?
